Welcome to WeRappo ("we", "our", or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and personal data. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the WeRappo mobile application, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
By using WeRappo, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of personal data:
- Phone number — used for account creation and authentication via one-time passcode (OTP).
- Email address (Gmail only) — optionally provided during profile setup.
- Username and profile photo — chosen by you, publicly visible within the app.
- GPS location — collected approximately every 15 minutes while the app is active, to enable location-based discovery of nearby travel posts.
- Posts — content you create including photos, videos, PDF documents, and text descriptions.
- Follow relationships — records of users you follow and who follows you.
- Chat messages — text-only messages exchanged with other users (no media attachments).
- Device FCM token — a device identifier used to deliver push notifications.
- Subscription and payment records — plan type, payment reference IDs (not full card details), and dates.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account.
- To show you travel posts from users within 7km of your current location.
- To facilitate messaging between mutual followers.
- To deliver push notifications about follow requests, messages, and app updates.
- To process subscription payments.
- To moderate reported content and maintain platform safety.
- To improve the app and understand usage patterns (aggregated, non-identifiable data only).
4. Third-Party Services
WeRappo uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy practices:
- Supabase — cloud database and authentication infrastructure. Privacy Policy
- Amazon Web Services (AWS S3) — storage for photos, videos, and PDFs. Privacy Policy
- Firebase (Google) — push notifications via FCM (Firebase Cloud Messaging). Privacy Policy
- Fast2SMS — SMS OTP delivery for phone number verification. Privacy Policy
- Razorpay — payment processing for Indian users. Privacy Policy
- Apple In-App Purchases (IAP) — subscription payments on iOS. Privacy Policy
- Google Play Billing — subscription payments on Android. Privacy Policy
We do not sell your personal data to third parties, nor do we share it with advertisers.
5. Location Data
WeRappo collects your device's GPS coordinates approximately every 15 minutes while the app is in use. Location data is used exclusively to display nearby travel posts and is not shared with any third party beyond the infrastructure providers (Supabase/AWS) necessary to operate this feature.
You may disable location access in your device settings at any time, though doing so will limit the core functionality of the app.
6. Data Retention
- Chat messages are retained for 1 year from the date they were sent.
- Deleted accounts: when you delete your account, your data is marked for deletion and fully purged from our systems within 30 days.
- Posts deleted by you are soft-deleted and purged within 30 days.
- Payment records may be retained longer as required by applicable financial laws.
7. Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access — you can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction — you can update your username, email, and profile photo at any time within the app.
- Deletion — you can permanently delete your account via Profile → Settings → Delete Account in the app.
- Portability — you may request an export of your data by contacting us at the email below.
8. Account Deletion
To delete your account and all associated data, go to Profile → Settings → Delete Account within the WeRappo app. Your account will be deactivated immediately and all personal data will be permanently purged within 30 days.

9. Children's Privacy
WeRappo is intended for users aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take prompt action to remove such data.
10. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), secure cloud storage, and access controls. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
